Once again CSK and MI face each other in IPL opening match. Here CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and elected to bowl first. Mumbai Indians opener Rohit Sharma and Quinton D’Kock start their inning very well. Rohit open his and team account with a four in Deepak Chahar’s first ball of very first over. Both of them dominant CSK fast bowlers in first four overs. The score was 45/0 after finish of 4th over. Then MS Dhoni played a master stroke and he asked Piyush Chawla to bowl next over. And the leggie Chawla didn’t disappoint his captain. He took the wicket of Rohit Sharma on his 4th bowl. After that Sam Curran took the wicket of de Kock in the next over. After that Surabh Tiwary and Surya Kumar Yadav add some runs in the MI scoreboard. Then Deepak Chahar strikes and took Surya Kumar wicket with the help of du Plessis stunning catch.This was IPL 2020 Best catch of the match. Jadeja took two most important wickets in the 15th over of Tiwary and dangerous Hardik Pandya. In the death over Lungi Ngidi took 3 wickets ( Pollard, Krunal and Pattinson). Deepak Chahar bowled Trent Boult in 19th over and Mumbai Indians scored 162/9 in 20 overs.
Now CSK has to chase 163 in 20 overs with 10 wickets in hand.
Chennai Super Kings Inning
CSK didn’t start very well and they lost their both the openers in just two overs on just six runs. Boult and Pattinson gave early breakthrough to MI. Then du Plessis and Rayudu took the Chennai score to a decent level. Both of them dominant Mumbai’s bowlers very well. Rayudu scored 71 runs in 48 balls (4’s – 6, 6’s – 3) with the strike rate of 148. Faf du Plessis was not out with MSD and he scored the winning boundary. Plessis scored 58 runs in 44 balls (4’s – 6) with the strike rate of 132. Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran hit some decent quick boundaries. Sam Curran impressed everyone with 18 runs in just 6 balls (4’s – 1, 6’s – 2) with the strike rate of 300. MS Dhoni was not out with out scoring a single run.
CSK won the first match with 5 wickets in 19.2 overs.
